A Walt Disney World Resort hotel can almost be as much fun to visit as one of the theme parks! Each Resort has its own theme, with various levels of dining, entertainment, and recreation. All of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels include the perk of Early Theme Park Entry.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

But with 30 or so Walt Disney World Resorts to choose from, which Resort is the best one for you?

Disney World Resorts are divided into price categories with amenity levels to match.

Value Resorts

Amenities at Value Resorts include food courts, swimming pools, and complimentary Disney transportation, such as buses or Skyliner. This is Disney’s category for the lowest tier of pricing. For more information on these Resorts, visit our Value Resort Main Page.

Art of Animation Resort

Value Resorts include:

Moderate Resorts

Amenities at Moderate Resorts include full-service restaurants, lounges, swimming pools with a slide and hot tub, and complimentary Disney Transportation, such as buses, boats, or Skyliner. This is Disney’s second-lowest tier for pricing. For more information on these resorts, check out our Moderate Resorts Main Page.

Port Orleans – Riverside

Moderate Resorts include:

Deluxe Resorts

Amenities include larger rooms, full-service restaurants, lounges, valet parking, elaborate swimming pools, and complimentary Disney transportation, such as the Monorail, Skyliner, boats, or buses. The Deluxe Resorts are Disney’s most expensive hotels. With a few exceptions, these hotels are the only ones to be able to utilize the Extended Evening Theme Park Entry perk. For more information on these resorts, check out our Deluxe Resorts Main Page.

Grand Floridian Resort

Deluxe Resorts include:

Yacht Club Resort

Also considered deluxe resorts are the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin and Swan Reserve. They aren’t owned and operated by Disney, but they share the same perks, such as Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Theme Park Hours.

Disney Vacation Club Villa Resorts

Amenities at these resorts offer full-service restaurants, in-room kitchen facilities, in-room laundry in many rooms, luggage service, swimming pools, on-site recreation, front-door parking, flexible room arrangements, bus, boat, or Skyliner transportation. The price for DVC Villas is comparable to Deluxe Resorts, but can also exceed in price when booking a multi-room villa. DVC Villa Resorts have access to Extended Evening Theme Park Hours. For more information on DVC Villa Resorts, check out our Main Page.

Disney Vacation Club Resorts include:

Pet-Friendly Resorts

Walt Disney World has four pet-friendly hotels, including Disney’s Yacht Club, Port Orleans Riverside, Art of Animation, and Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Read our page on Pet-Friendly Hotel Rooms for more details.

Pets may also be boarded at the Best Friends Pet Care kennel across from Port Orleans Riverside.

Good Neighbor Hotels

Disney Good Neighbor Hotels are located near the parks, but they are not owned by Disney — they have a partnership with them. Good Neighbor Hotels have a person on staff to help with your Disney Vacation, and they also have transportation to theme parks, but a fee may apply. There are 40+ Good Neighbor Hotels to choose from, ranging in prices. Some Good Neighbor Hotels have access to Early Theme Park Entry.
