Dream Maker Romance Plan Offers Romantic Getaway Packages

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Love is in the air at Walt Disney World Resort with a new romantic getaway package just in time for Valentine’s Day. Couples can enjoy a private horse-drawn carriage ride with champagne, spa treatments and fine dining, plus accommodations and theme park tickets to Walt Disney World Resort.

The Dream Maker Romance Plan package includes:

Accommodations for three nights at a Walt Disney World Resort value hotel.

Ultimate Park Hopper ticket, which provides unlimited admission to all four Disney theme parks, Disney’s two water parks, Downtown Disney Pleasure Island, Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex (valid only on event days; some events require additional admission charge) and DisneyQuest.

Private 30-minute horse-drawn carriage ride with champagne.

Carnival-like Fun Comes to Downtown Disney Pleasure Island
During Mardi Gras - Feb. 28, March 1 & March 4


LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- There will be lots of Fat Tuesday fun at Downtown Disney Pleasure Island during its annual Mardi Gras celebration Feb. 28, March 1 and March 4. Pleasure Island becomes the ultimate New Orleans-style street party as guests are adorned by colorful beads and entertained by live bands, jugglers and stiltwalkers. Masqueraders can take to the streets and feast on Cajun cuisine during this three-night party. The Mardi Gras celebration is included with regular Pleasure Island admission of $19.95 per person.


Orlando International Airport Welcomes New Disney Store

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Travelers passing through Orlando International Airport can do some last-minute shopping for Disney souvenirs at a new 4,500-square-foot Disney Store located in the East Hall Hyatt atrium. The whimsically designed facility offers Disney theme park merchandise plus theme park tickets.

 

Walt Disney World Eateries Make Zagat’s Top 20

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Six Walt Disney World restaurants have made the latest edition of Zagat Survey’s top 20 restaurants in Orlando. The winners: Victoria & Albert’s and Cítricos at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Flying Fish Cafe at Disney’s BoardWalk, California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Le Cellier steakhouse at the Canada pavilion at Epcot.


Disney Guests Get Pampered With New Basin Store

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Guests can indulge in the soothing scents of bath crystals, bubbles, soaps and custom candles at the new Basin shop at Downtown Disney Marketplace. Weathered-pine flooring and shelves, fabric drapes, wooden bins and classic fixtures give the new 2,000-square-foot store the character of a 19th century shop. An interactive area allows guests to try out many of the products.

 

Atlantic Dance Hall Offers New Format

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s BoardWalk has changed its format and is now spinning Top 40 sounds plus hit songs from the 1980s and 1990s and high energy dance music during DJ dance parties on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. On Friday and Saturday the club heats up with entertainment by live bands. Atlantic Dance Hall is open Tuesday-Saturday from 9 p.m.-2 a.m. for guests ages 21 and over. Admission is free.

 

Atlanta Braves Spring Training - Feb. 14-March 27

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The defending National League East champion Atlanta Braves return for their sixth full season of spring training at the newly renamed Cracker Jack Stadium at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in 2003. Despite losing longtime Braves pitcher Tom Glavine to free agency during the off season, many of the familiar faces that have made the Braves one of America’s most popular franchises return, including Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones, Greg Maddux and Gary Sheffield.

The month of February is the perfect opportunity for fans to get up close and personal with their favorite Braves stars. Pitchers and catchers arrive on Feb. 14 and the full squad hits the field on Feb. 19. Fans can seek out autographs and photos while taking in a Braves practice session. The Braves’ slate of 16 home games at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex begins on Feb. 27 with an exhibition game against the Georgia Tech University Yellow Jackets. Their first spring training game against a Major League opponent will take place on Feb. 28 against the Philadelphia Phillies.
