Introduction

The Lost Continent

The Lost Continent is actually the least "theme park" like area in Islands of Adventure. Reminiscent of a Renaissance Fair, you will travel through three mystical sections. The first section, when entering from Seuss Landing, is the Lost City, followed by Sindbad Village and Merlin Woods. You may even spot the Great Wizard Merlin, if you're lucky.

Attractions and Entertainment

Poseidon's Fury - Special effects combine with live-action in this walk-through attraction. You will tour the remains of Poseidon's ancient temple. After warnings to leave the temple are ignored, you will find yourself trapped right in the middle of a fierce battle over Poseidon's Trident, between Poseidon, God of the Sea and his arch enemy Darkennon. During your visit to this mythical world you'll face lasers, fireballs and a 95 MPH water vortex tunnel. Universal Express attraction.

The Mystic Fountain - Toss a coin in this magical fountain and match wits with its mischievous spirit.  Located just outside of the Sindbad Stunt Show.

Dueling Dragons Near MissThe Eighth Voyage of Sindbad Stunt Show - Join Sindbad and his sidekick Kabob as they try to rescue Princess Amoura from the evil sorceress Miseria and her henchmen. Lots of stunts, corny jokes and pyrotechnics. Show lasts approximately 20 minutes. Universal Express attraction.

Dueling Dragons - Ride Fire or Ride Ice if you dare on this inverted dueling roller coaster. As the story goes, two battling Dragons take over a once-thriving castle, one named Pyrrock and the other named Blizzrock, whose antics turn the queue area into a frozen and charred maze of castle corridors. You will get to choose which Dragon to ride -- the actual coaster ride takes place outside over Dragon Lake. Each coaster track is a completely different ride with three near misses. Universal Express attraction.

The Flying Unicorn - A "family" coaster ride. Gentle enough for the young and young at heart. Slightly bigger than a "kiddy coaster." The drop is 30 feet, with speeds up to 28 MPH. Universal Express attraction.

Places to Eat

Mythos Restaurant - This is one of only two full service restaurants in Islands of Adventure and comes highly recommended. Open for both lunch and dinner. You can dine inside the cave-like restaurant or outside on the patio that overlooks the inland waterway with great views of the Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon and Jurassic Park. Reservations available.

Fire-Eater's Grill - Counter service restaurant serving gyros, chicken, hot dogs and salad.

The Enchanted Oak Tavern - Eat inside the great Oak where you can't help but feel Merlin's presence. Dark and cool inside with ribs, smoked turkey legs, roasted corn on the cob and roasted chicken. Outdoor seating on the inland waterway is also available. The food seems to be better here than other counter service spots that serve ribs and chicken. A full service bar is at the far end of The Enchanted Oak Tavern, called the Alchemy Bar.  Happy hour times vary.

The Frozen Desert - Ice cream treats.

Places to Shop

Treasure of Poseidon - Apparel, toys and souvenirs from the deep.

The Dragon's Keep - Dragon gear, crystals and wizard supplies.

The Coin Mint - Metal coins are forged and struck before your eyes with some fun staff who really enjoy their jobs.

The Pearl Factory - Pick an oyster and hopefully find a pearl.
