Have you ever used a grocery delivery service in Disney World?
It’s a great way to get things like bottled water (which can get VERY expensive in the parks), snacks, and more delivered to your Disney World hotel room to save some money. However, if you’ve been using Amazon Fresh for those grocery deliveries, you could be in for additional delivery fees.
Previously, Amazon Prime members could get free grocery delivery on orders over $35. According to the Associated Press, the program will soon start charging Prime Members who order less than $150 a delivery fee of $3.95 or $9.95, depending on how big the order is.
Amazon sent an email about the change, which said, “We will continue to offer convenient two-hour delivery windows for all orders, and customers in some areas will be able to select a longer, six-hour delivery window for a reduced fee.”
Amazon spokesperson Lara Hendrickson issued a statement about the change: “We’re introducing a service fee on some Amazon Fresh delivery orders to help keep prices low in our online and physical grocery stores as we better cover grocery delivery costs and continue to enable offering a consistent, fast, and high-quality delivery experience.”
The new policy will begin on February 28th, so keep that in mind if you’d planned on using the service to have groceries delivered to your hotel room. If you need other ways to get groceries delivered to Disney World, we’ve outlined a list of services that are available here.
