Meeting characters in EPCOT is one of our favorite things to do.
This is especially true when it comes to the Imagination Pavilion, where you can now meet Figment! However, we’ve noticed a major problem with this meet and greet spot lately that needs to be fixed ASAP.
Previously, you could meet Vanellope from Wreck It Ralph in the Imagination Pavilion, but Figment took her place. To travel to her meet and greet, Vanellope would walk through a portal that would take her from the internet to our world!
You could also meet Joy from Inside Out in this pavilion up until very recently (she’s headed over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!), and she traveled through the same portal to head from Riley’s head (aka HQ) to us.
However, now that Joy is moving, the only character meeting in this pavilion right now is Figment, and while we love him…it makes NO sense for him to be traveling through the portal to get to his meet and greet — we’re already IN the Imagination Pavilion where he calls home!
The portal is called “The Link” and now that no one’s coming through it, Cast Members are being asked MULTIPLE times a day what the portal is, if it’s a ride, and why it’s blocked off. If there are no more characters coming to the pavilion that would require the portal, we think it should be demo’d ASAP to avoid more confusion.
Now, don’t get us wrong, we think the portal looks really cool, but only if it can actually be used in a way that makes sense! We’ll be sure to keep an eye on it, so stay tuned to AllEars!
