Walt Disney World Resort Pools Your Kids Will Love the Most

As much fun as the Walt Disney World parks are, sometimes all we really want is to spend the whole day splashing around at the pool!

And that can be especially true if you’re traveling with kiddos who can’t get enough of all the pools, splash pads, and water slides Disney World has to offer. Which hotels might you want to consider if an awesome, kid-friendly pool is one of your top priorities?

These are the Disney World pools your children will love the most!

The Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

The Big Blue Pool is the largest hotel pool in all of Walt Disney World Resort. But that’s not the only thing that makes this pool special! It’s themed after Finding Nemo, and large statues of the film characters decorate the pool area. There’s a splash pad for the little ones and a playground for those who prefer to avoid the water altogether. Oh, and the most unique feature about The Big Blue Pool: music is typically piped in underwater, so you can listen to Disney tunes while you just keep swimming!

Fuentes del Morro Pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

If your kiddos are big Pirates of the Caribbean fans, they’ll love the feature pool at Caribbean Beach Resort! It’s themed like a colonial Spanish fortress, which is the perfect setting for budding pirates and sailors. The pool also has two waterslides and refreshing water cannons which are a fun and unique touch that can take playtime to the next level. Smaller children can visit the shipwreck play area to scout out the scene from the crow’s nest and tackle a mini-waterslide before graduating to the bigger slides.

The Lost City of Cibola Pool at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

Themed after Mayan ruins, a huge 50-foot pyramid is the crown jewel of The Lost City of Cibola Pool. And if the awesome pyramid isn’t enough to get your kids super excited, maybe the 123-foot long water slide — featuring a spitting jaguar — will do the trick! There are plenty of other activities around the pool too, like a sand volleyball court and the Iguana Arcade. This pool is great for older kids who are looking for a little extra adventure!

Doubloon Lagoon at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter

Even though Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside are both still closed, we had to give a shoutout to Doubloon Lagoon, located in French Quarter. The New Orleans theming includes an alligator band and a sea serpent water slide that gives this pool an exciting extra touch. While your kids might not be Mardi Gras aficionados, they’ll still enjoy the bright colors and fun concepts the decor brings to life!

Lava Pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

A giant volcano? Check. A refreshing waterfall? Check. A 142-foot long water slide? Check! This tropical oasis provides plenty of fun and exciting elements the kids will love! And for parents also looking to kick back and relax with plenty of delicious drinks nearby, the Lava Pool at the Poly offers the perfect compromise between kid- and adult-friendly.

Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts

Of course, we had to end with the best-of-the-best when it comes to Disney World pools. Guests at both Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts can access Stormalong Bay, which is more of a mini-water park than just a pool. It features a huge sand-bottomed pool, a massive shipwreck replica, a 230-foot long water slide, a lazy river, and more! If your family likes to spend a good portion of its vacation at the pool, it might be worth it to look into a stay at Yacht or Beach Club just for Stormalong Bay!

Much like the resorts themselves, the pools at the Disney World hotels each have their own unique theming, activities, and vibe. If you’re looking for a pool that the kiddos will love, check out one of these options on your next stay!
