There are a few perks that keep bringing people back to Disney World hotels!
Although fans are still upset at Disney for taking away the free Magical Express perk, people staying at the hotels still have a leg up on those staying off-site. For example, you can get into any of the four theme parks 30 minutes before anyone else. You also get to be completely immersed in Disney World the entire time by staying on property. However, there is one perk that has been gone for years and Disney has been silent about its return.
No, this post is not about hotel package delivery, although that is another perk that Disney has not brought back. (Believe us, we’ll be the first to let you know if we hear anything about it!) We’re talking about in-room dining, also known as room service. We didn’t forget about it, Disney!
Room service is a perk that was offered at many of the Disney World hotels before the shutdown in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, according to Disney, it’s only available at one resort — Disney’s Grand Floridian.
Back in August of 2020 when Disney’s Yacht Club Resort reopened, it was the only hotel offering in-room dining at that point. However, things have changed since then.
There have been several posts on Disney’s planning website planDisney over the past couple of years confirming that it is not available anywhere else. Disney has not said a peep about it, which leads us to believe it’s not high on their priority list as they are focused on new park projects. That doesn’t mean that they’ve fully forgotten about it, though!
If you are staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian and want a relaxing resort day with room service, there is a wide variety to choose from on the menu. Check the menu in your room (which is likely a QR code now) for the latest options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Our favorite Disney resort is the French Quarters/Port Orleans….an MIA at this resort is the lack of daily maid service…particularily,the making of beds…Four years we’ve endured this every other day exercise and several times we had to remind housekeeping with following up with their maintenance program…The lack of room service is a luxury type offering ..the lack of basic housekeeping is a bare necessity
