California Screamin'

INTRODUCTION

Blast-off with a screech from the beach! Then twist, turn and loop upside down through Mickey Mouse's silhouette. By the time you arrive back at the pier, you will know why this is the adrenaline rush of the century!

ATTRACTION

California Screamin' is a state-of-the-art, steel roller coaster that evokes the great thrills of wooden coasters from days gone by. Catapult from 0 to 55 mph in less than five seconds. Over the course of more than one mile of track, you'll experience a giant loop and a 108-foot drop, all set to music played by a state of the art sound system.

TOURING TIPS

Height Requirement: 48" (122 cm) or taller.

California Screamin' is a FastPass Attraction. Even with Fastpass, the standby lines can still be pretty long. Try riding first thing in the morning before queues develop, or during the afternoon parade.

This is a pretty wild coaster, so don't ride it if you have heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness or other conditions that could be aggravated by a rough coaster. Expectant mothers should not ride, either.

KIDS AND CHARACTERS

Accompany young children on this ride -- you must be at least 48 inches tall to ride.

DINING

Walk down the Boardwalk to Malibu-ritos (Mexican food) or Strip, Dips, and Chips (fish and chips, chicken strips).

At the entrance to Paradise Pier is Ariel's Grotto, a character buffet featuring seafood and American cuisine.

For a quick snack there's Catch-a-Flave, with soft-serve ice cream.
