Free Disney World transportation is a fantastic perk when you’re visiting the parks.
It means you can easily get from your Disney hotel to the parks, from Disney Springs to the hotels, or from park to park. However, sometimes transportation issues arise that may impact your trip. In fact, an unexpected transportation issue is happening NOW at Disney World! Let’s take a look.
Boat transportation in Disney Springs is currently unavailable. We chatted with some nearby Cast Members who confirmed with us the boats are not running, and they also weren’t running on April 27th. Cast Members did not share the reason for this unexpected closure.
At this time, it’s unclear if they’ll be back working again tomorrow, April 29th. Sometimes, this happens — transportation has issues, and either Cast Members aren’t sure what’s happening, or they’re not allowed to inform guests. Regardless, Disney will offer an alternate method of transportation to its hotels.
A similar situation also happened last year, which was said to be due to low water levels and lack of rain. This service impacts Disney Springs and all the hotels it services by boat, which are:
- Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Treehouses
- Disney’s Old Key West Resort
- Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter
- Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside
Note that Disney’s boat service is often paused due to lightning in the area, though the current closure does not appear to be weather-related.
We will continue to look for updates on this ongoing situation. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
