Something WEIRD Is Going on With This Disney Ride Closure

It’s not uncommon to see ride closures in the Disney parks.

Disneyland

From time to time, Disney will close down rides temporarily to give them touch-ups and refurbishments. Sometimes these closures last a few days, while other times they can last months (*cough cough* Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster). But right now, there’s a very bizarre ride closure happening in Disneyland Park!

Disneyland has temporarily closed the Matterhorn Bobsleds for refurbishment, but not in the usual way. During the refurbishment period, the Matterhorn will be closed on weekdays and open on the weekends only.

This refurbishment is fairly short, with the ride having its last day of refurbishment on Thursday, May 2nd. But until then, expect it to only be open on Saturdays and Sundays for the full day. On Fridays, the ride will open at 3PM.

This is a pretty unusual schedule for Disney to keep, but it seems they want the ride open during the busiest park days. We’ll be interested to see if they try this strategy in the future with other attractions.
