Bongos certainly does not receive as much hype or publicity as some of the other restaurants in Downtown Disney and when discussing it with family and friends it seemed as though no one that I knew had ever been there. After finally dining there, the only thing I can say now is "what took me so long?"

Levy Restaurants is again offering a summer cooking school for kids ages 6 to 12, who may be the foodies of the future. The kid-friendly cooking class takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Fulton's Crab House, Portobello Restaurant and Wolfgang Puck Cafe. The Levy cooking school is $37 per child. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis until the event is full. To sign up, call 407-828-8996.

The BoardWalk Bakery reopened today Friday, April 26, after a renovation of several months. The bakery sports an all-new look, with a new entrance, queue, signage and more. The bakery also now features an expanded menu with a soup or salad and sandwich combo, pastries and specialty beverages. The newly refurbished bakery also has a refillable mug station for those staying at the BoardWalk Inn and Villas.

Disney's Monstrous Summer is bursting with good times for the entire family.

The "Monstrous" lineup includes entertainment enhancements celebrating the June 21 release of the Disney-Pixar animated feature, "Monsters University." Mike and Sulley are dropping in from MU to scare up monstrous surprises all summer long. Guests will find all-new collegiate settings for meeting their favorite aspiring scarers. On the Backlot at Disney's Hollywood Studios, guests will find the Monsters University Student Union, complete with a view of the campus. Over at Magic Kingdom, the gang at the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor have been studying new jokes and are ready to graduate to new comedy bits in honor of their alma mater. Throw in Star Wars Weekends, the grand reopening of California Grill, a new spa for Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and more and it adds up to a summer that's exciting, thrilling, magical... Monstrous!

Spice Road Table, a new waterfront eatery, will be open by year-end at the Morocco Pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase. The new restaurant will have indoor and outdoor seating, and will feature small plates and refreshments inspired by the cuisine of the Mediterranean. More enhancements to the pavilion and news on Spice Road Table will be released as menus are finalized.

Taste of Hollywood to Go, which allows you to purchase a prepackaged meal that includes reserved seating for Disney's Hollywood Studios' nighttime Fantasmic! show, returns March 24 and runs for 10 days through April 4. The program makes five boxed meals available:

--hot fried chicken with roasted garlic mashed potatoes, sweet corn and carrots and warm apple crisp

--a veggie sandwich with avocado, orange and tomato salad, tabbouleh and chocolate cake

--California and tuna sushi roll with beet and apple salad, ginger-marinated tomatoes and cucumbers and a spicy pecan chocolate cluster

--shrimp salad with beet and apple salad, ginger-marinated tomatoes and cucumbers and mandarin orange cheesecake

--cold-cut roast beef with creamy horseradish, potato salad, grilled asparagus and chocolate cake

Children's meals are also available, and include: turkey and American cheese wrap with apples and carrots with ranch dip, strawberry yogurt and a seven-layer cookie bar; or strawberry yogurt, apple wedges, carrot sticks, Goldfish crackers, and an organic apple and cinnamon oatmeal bar. To take advantage of Taste of Hollywood to Go, call 407-WDW-DINE to make reservations up to 24 hours before the Fantasmic! show you want to attend (based on availability). (The number of seats for Fantasmic! you can reserve is based on the number of meals purchased.) A credit card is required with complete payment upon arrival (24-hour cancellation policy). You then pick up your boxed meals at Min & Bill's Dockside Diner between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. on the day of your show. Meals, which include a 20-ounce soft drink or water, cost $15.99 for adults, $5.49 for ages 9 and under, or one quick-service entitlement if you're on the Disney Dining Plan. NOTE: Even if you don't have a reservation, check for availability when you arrive at the Studios.

The Grand Floridian alone features three Signature dining locations, quite a feat considering that there are only about a dozen of these Signature restaurants in all of Disney World. Known for requiring two credits when on the dining plan, Disney defines its Signature restaurants as "providing unparalleled cuisine served in elegant and relaxed surroundings." The restaurants at the Grand Floridian certainly live up to this billing and one such dining location is Citricos.

Downtown Disney Pleasure Island guests can embrace their inner Irish and celebrate the most authentic St. Patrick's Day festivities in town March 14-17 at Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant. Live Irish music, dance and authentic cuisine by Irish celebrity chef Kevin Dundon headline a spirited long weekend dubbed the Mighty St. Patrick's Festival.

Guests ready to "get their green on" can participate in festivities that run from 6 p.m. until 1 a.m. March 14 and 15 and from noon until 1 a.m. March 16 and 17. The lineup of Irish band performances begins with a festival kickoff March 8-10 by The Willis Clan, a family of artists and musicians who merge their Irish roots with other music and dance genres to create a unique style.

Disney's new TRYit campaign, part of Disney's Magic of Healthy Living initiative, will be featured during the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. Chefs have designated some special dishes to encourage children to try something new. Look for the TRYit logo on dishes all throughout the World Showcase Promenade, including dishes in the Garden Marketplaces and Festival Center. Some of the TRYit dishes kids are encouraged to taste: Beet Lollipop (Intermissions Cafe in the Festival Center); Wild Berry Slush (Fruits by the Glass); Baked Goat's Brie with Kumquat Chutney (The Cottage, United Kingdom); Frushi (Fruit Sushi) (Hanami, Japan); Watermelon Salad with pickled Red Onions, BW Farms Baby Arugula, Feta Cheese & Balsamic Reduction (Florida Fresh); and Ratatouille Tarte with Goat Cheese (L'Orangerie, France).
