Well, We’ve Never Seen THIS Message on Disney+ Before!

A NEW Disney+ update is linking Disney’s streaming service and theme parks in an unprecedented way.

A gathering of characters at Pixar Fest!

Since its launch in 2019, Disney has used Disney+ for theme park promotion in several ways, ranging from bringing characters from Marvel and Star Wars series into the parks to parks-focused documentaries like The Imagineering Story or Behind the Attraction, to whole Disney+ Day celebrations. However, we’ve noticed a new feature that takes things to another level.

Pixar Fest 2024, the Disneyland Resort’s massive celebration of all things Pixar, is running from April 26th through August 4th. In cross-promotion with the event, Disney has taken the surprising new step of adding a banner advertising the event’s top Pixar films on Disney+.

The landing page for each of the Emeryville-based animation studio’s theatrically released films features a small but prominent banner that reads simply “Disneyland Resort is celebrating Pixar Fest.”

The yellow text is featured on all of Pixar’s full films, ranging from the studio’s first feature-length, 1995’s Toy Story all the way to the studio’s most recent release, 2023’s Elemental.
