We’ll admit that we have been super-excited about the Avengers Campus at Disneyland ever since it opened, and are getting pumped about the one being added to Disneyland Paris.
But what about Disney World? Well, we know there will never be anything like Avengers Campus at Disney World anytime soon, but you can still find a Marvel presence there.
WAY before Disney ever bought Marvel, the comic book group made an agreement with the owners of the Universal Studios theme parks for the use of Marvel characters there. The contract, though, stipulated that no other theme parks could use Marvel characters currently in use at Universal Parks east of the Mississippi River. Yeah, it was that specific.
That’s why Disney World can’t use Spider-Man, the Hulk, and characters currently at Universal Studios. The west, though, has free reign to use those characters, and that’s how we got Avengers Campus at Disneyland in California.
But you can still find Marvel at Disney World — if you know where to look. We’re breaking it down.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
But wait, you might say, how can Disney World have a Guardians of the Galaxy attraction? Here’s the thing — the Guardians are not being used at Universal Studios (remember the contract only covers characters currently represented at Universal). So now we have a brand new epic roller coaster at EPCOT!
Although the initial plan was to have the ride opening in time for Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebrations, the pandemic delayed construction on the project, but we had remained updated on the construction progress. And then, the ride officially opened on May 27th, 2022, and we were able to ride it as part of a preview event!

Super Hero Headquarters
Did you know there’s a Marvel Store at Disney Springs? It’s called Super Hero Headquarters, and it’s where you can go to get some great Marvel gear. You can find it on the West Side of Disney Springs between Star Wars Galactic Outpost and Candy Cauldron.
You can get everything from Marvel clothing to action figures to Marvel toys here — the store is small, but it’s chock full of Marvel goodies.

Marvel Merchandise In Other Shops at Disney World
If you can’t make it out to Super Hero Headquarters, though, there are plenty of other shops at Disney World that carry Marvel merchandise. At Disney Springs, the LEGO Store has a lot of great Marvel sets. We’ve also seen a lot of Marvel apparel and accessories at The Dress Shop at Disney Springs, Legends of Hollywood at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Uptown Jewelers at Magic Kingdom.
Keystone Clothiers at Hollywood Studios is pretty much now half Marvel merchandise and half Star Wars merchandise. So you’ll be able to find all kinds of Marvel stuff all over Disney World if you’re looking for it.

Marvel Promotions
You can also see a variety of Marvel promotions around the parks, particularly right before a big movie release or the premiere of a Marvel TV show. We’ve seen everything from WandaVision cakes to a Disney bus covered entirely in WandaVision.
We’ve also seen a lot of promotional snacks, billboards, and even cakes for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Not to mention all the promo stuff we’ve recently seen for Moon Knight and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

So although Disney World may never get a Marvel-themed land, there are still plenty of opportunities to celebrate your Marvel obsession there.
