I Took a FAKE BABY To Disney World… Here Are 5 BIG Tips To Know For Disney With Kids

Disney World is a place that the whole family can enjoy and for a lot of guests, that means traveling with babies, toddlers, and young kids.

Fake Baby in Magic Kingdom

This might be a common experience but it is shockingly challenging, and parents can be thrown for a loop as they navigate the hot, tiring, and stressful Disney World parks. To talk more about the struggles, I took a fake baby to Disney World, and it showed us a lot of hard lessons about Disney with kids. Don’t worry, I’ll explain.

I make Youtube videos that help people go to Disney World, and we recently made a video to talk about the tips that apply to traveling with younger children. To do so, we brought along a faux baby and headed on a challenge in Magic Kingdom. You can watch it here!

Now that you’ve seen that somewhat embarassing, hopefully helpful experience, let’s talk about the 5 biggest things to know when traveling with babies, toddlers, and young kids!

1. Let them nap!

Little ones need a lot of sleep to keep comfort and moods up, and this is especially true in Disney World. It’s hot and involves a whole lot more walking than your kids might be used to. Plus, long days can be particularly taxing!

Make sure to let your kids nap. This might look different for different families, but whether you’re headed to the hotel mid-day for a break or just making sure the kids get a nap in the stroller, this can be a huge lifesaver for the mood of the day and for making it to fireworks.

2. Pack the essentials!

Disney World has a lot of shops with some useful items, but if there is something that is an every day must for your baby or little one, then make sure you pack it.

All strollers can use a little accessorizing!

We ran into this with Cheerios, as there is nothing even close to Cheerios in the parks but it can be true for medicines, other specific snacks, nap-necessary blankets, and a whole lot more. Don’t bet on being able to find something specific in the parks!

3. Make a stroller judgment.

Strollers are must for many families going to the parks. You’re welcome to bring your own, but you can also rent from Disney or from a third-party service! Compare prices and learn more about stroller options right here!

You also might want to consider a stroller even if your kiddo hasn’t used one in a few years. Disney World is a lot of walking, and little legs might have trouble even if they’ve been ok at home.

4. Hydrate!

This is one of the most recommended tips from parents on our team and in our audience. Please, please, please make sure your kids are hydrated!

Don’t forget to grab your free water!

With the heat of Florida and the exertion of the parks, you can make yourself sick, and your kids are no different. Everyone should drink a lot more water than usual! As someone who is in the parks all the time, it sucks to see a kiddo overheating and sick because they haven’t had enough water. Plus, it will help with the moods and endurance too!

5. Be flexible and patient!

This is our biggest tip of all when it comes to traveling with little ones! If you’re used to going to the park without babies and young kids, this is going to be a whole different ball game. Things go wrong. Timing will be off, tantrums will happen, kids will change their minds, sudden naps will happen, there will be inconvenient bathroom trips…a lot is up in the air.

Be flexible and patient with little ones! Disney World is about creating memories as a family and this can happen whether you’re riding 20 rides or three. Having a positive attitude and rolling with the punches is the key to making a trip with little ones magical for you and for them.
