Taylor Swift is a HOT topic right now, and Disney is capitalizing on that!
After a highly successful concert tour in the US and amid a high-profile relationship with 2024 Super Bowl winner Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift has been in the news quite a bit. To jump on the hype train, Disney recently announced something big — the Taylor Swift Eras Tour movie is coming to Disney+!
The concert will be available to stream in its entirety exclusively on Disney+, along with four additional acoustic songs — including “Cardigan.” It comes to the streaming platform on March 15th, 2024.
But with the popularity of Taylor Swift, surely Disney didn’t come by this deal on the cheap! In fact, Forbes reports that Disney spent a whopping $75 million to get exclusive streaming rights to the Eras Tour movie. WOW!
Disney outbid competitors like Netflix and Universal. The film first came to theaters back in October 2023 and earned more than $261 million globally at the box office, which made it the top-grossing concert movie of all time.

What a waste of money!!!! Put it towards the parks!!!
Taylor is big enough that Disney could do a 2 or 3 songs ins shortened video in one of their theaters in the parks and it would likely be a huge attraction for a while. Kind of like Captain EO.
