When you are on vacation, the last thing you want to consider is rules, but it’s still important to know them.Â
It’s the unspoken rules that are the tough ones, right? Those things it feels like everyone knows but you? Well, we know a thing or two about Disney World, and we asked our team for some of their unspoken rules that will help you change how you vacation at Disney World forever!
Everyone has their own special and unspoken rules when they go to Disney World. If it is your first time to Disney World or you are a regular, these five unspoken rules can make you even more of a Disney World pro!
You May Not Need Genie+ for Each Park
Genie+ can be confusing, and we have plenty of resources to help you navigate the best ways to use Genie+, but what if we told you that you do not need to get Genie+ for every park? For our first unspoken rule, we say yes to Genie+ at Magic Kingdom and at Hollywood Studios, and no to Genie+ at EPCOT and Animal Kingdom.Â
If your goal is to ride as many rides as possible, then you may want to purchase Genie+ for each park. If you plan to go to multiple parks in a day, you can purchase the multi-park option. This depends on the day, crowd levels, and even the time of day, but this unspoken rule can help save you money!
But it’s been our experience many times that we can accomplish everything we want to do in the parks with less attractions — EPCOT and Animal Kingdom — without shelling out the extra cash for Genie+.
You Do Not Always Need a Strict Schedule
This leads to our next unspoken rule. So many things at Disney World are planned out, and it can feel like you are on a constant schedule. Sometimes having a day where nothing is planned is the way to go, especially if you are familiar with Disney World.Â
When you go into the parks with little to no game plan it opens up the day for so many possibilities and you do not feel pressured to stay on a strict schedule. While this rule might not be the best for a first-time trip, it is a strategy that can help make your trip more relaxing.
Snacks Can be Your Meal
Now what about snacking and dining? Getting your favorite snack at Disney World is a must. There are so many snacks that sometimes you can eat too much and not be hungry for a full meal and that is okay!Â
You do not need to have full meals throughout the day. Instead, frequent snacking rather than a full meal not only allows you to try a lot of different food items, but it can also help you feel less weighed down in the park.Â
Entering World Showcase
When you are in EPCOT and you reach the entrance to the World Showcase you are tasked with two choices, you could go right towards Canada or left towards Mexico. This is a constant debate with Disney goers. You could also be team International Gateway and enter the World Showcase near France and the United Kingdom. Regardless of which way you choose, we prefer going to the left toward Mexico.
Well, except for Quincy, who says you should take the boat across the World Showcase Lagoon and start in Morocco. Quincy and her boat rides…
You Do Not Need to Go to the Parks Everyday
Waking up to rope drop every day can be tiring, especially if you are staying in the park until close. We recommend having at least one non-park day on your trip. Disney offers so much outside of the parks that some people never experience.Â
You can spend this time at your resort relaxing at the pool, or shopping and dining at Disney Springs. If the weather is nice you can hit the slopes at Blizzard Beach or hang out at Typhoon Lagoon. If you want to explore other resorts you can take the Skyliner and explore the Skyliner resorts. You can do the same thing with the Monorail resorts. Having a day outside the parks can help you relax and experience something new!
These five unspoken Disney rules can help you change the way that you vacation at Disney World forever and hopefully make your trip less stressful.Â
