EXCITING Dining Changes Made to the Disney World App and We Think You’ll LOVE Them!

One of the biggest ways to have a successful Disney World or Disneyland trip is to know your way around their apps.

Hollywood Studios

The Disneyland App and My Disney Experience App both help you with SO much while you’re on your Disney vacation. You can make Lightning Lane reservations, check showtimes, make dining reservations, and so much more. The app changes pretty often, though, to improve guest experience, but a recent one is one change we LOVE!

You can book dining reservations up to 60 days in advance of your stay, but sometimes you might be in the parks the day of and decide you wanna sit down for a nice meal.

Sometimes these restaurants still have reservations available for the day, but other times you’ll need to join a walk-up waitlist. Previously, when you tapped on the restaurant, it would give you the option to join the walk-up waitlist. But now Disney has added a new change that can make this process even better!

On both the Disneyland and My Disney Experience apps, we’ve now noticed that the walk-up waitlist expected wait time shows up ON the map!

This is a great tool to help you plan where you’d like to eat if you’re trying to ensure you have enough time before a show or ride return time. And if you simply don’t like waiting in line for food, you can better prepare for the best times of the day to eat.

Not all walk-up wait lists have it just yet, but we’re expecting to see it continue to roll out over the next few days/weeks. A similar feature is also on the Tokyo Disney app, so we’re excited to see it make its way to the U.S. parks. (However, Tokyo also has the wait times for snack carts labeled! 🤯)

Another great option to avoid standing in line for food is Mobile Order! You can place your order on the app, let them know when you’re ready for them to make it, and then pick it up when you’re called. It’s a simple process that can save you lots of time. You can even use your Disney Dining Plan this way, so don’t miss out!
